ACA2 NEOGEO series announced for PS5, Xbox Series (2024)

Hamster Corporation has announced ACA2 NEOGEO, an evolution of its existing line of ACA NEOGEO classic game re-releases. ACA2 NEOGEO titles will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series beginning this summer.

The existing ACA NEOGEO series is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, Windows 10 PC, iOS, and Android, and each title includes original, high score, and caravan game modes. Among its 100-plus re-releases are titles such as the The King of Fighters series, Puzzle Bobble, Samurai Shodown, and more.

The ACA2 NEOGEO series will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, and include time attack and network modes in addition to original, high score, and caravan modes.

Users who own the ACA NEOGEO version of a title will be able to purchase the ACA2 NEOGEO version at a discount.

Further information about ACA2 NEOGEO will be announced at a later date.

Why would I want to buy emulated neo geo games when I can spend $999 on a shitty used AES off of fleaBay and then post a running commentary on a videogame forum about all the other great scores I've taken off of the same place?

Also, I'd only buy Japanese ACA2 games I can play on my US PS5... Except those ones I like playing in Esperanto.

Well, it is "Arcade Archives" after all. I'm not aware of them ever releasing a non-arcade game.

Do you have many ACA titles? I'm #6 in the world on Pac-Man right now, but I play a little Donkey Kong as well.

Honestly I’ve gotten into that 5 min mode before I think I was tied for 2nd in Turfmasters and Overtop at one time I haven’t checked in a while. Usually my goal with that mode is to become the top US Flag player

How does the ACA versions of the Metal Slug games compare to the Neo Geo originals?

Are they a good substitute?
